Common questions about Hourglass: how the public leaderboard works, what time costs, and what you can list. The rules and terms are the source of truth if anything here conflicts.
What is Hourglass?
Hourglass is a public leaderboard where rank is time left. You list a product website, buy hours, and stand above everyone with less time. There are no ads and no revenue share.
How does Hourglass work?
Paste your website address, pick a category, add your details and choose how many hours to buy. A confirmed payment starts your timer and claims your rank. When time runs out, your listing is removed.
How much does it cost?
A new listing can start with a one-time $20 test hour. After that, time is $60 per hour. A permanent listing is $15,900, paid once. All prices are in US dollars.
How do I get #1?
Buy enough hours to pass whoever is #1 on that board. Every listing shows a Take #1 button with the exact hours and price. If a permanent listing is #1, only another permanent listing can match it.
What is the difference between the Leaderboard and Today?
The Leaderboard ranks everyone by time left. Today ranks listings by the hours bought in the last 24 hours, so a fresh purchase can lead Today without leading the main board.
Can I add time after I already paid?
Yes. Open your listing and use Buy more time. The hours are added to the end of your timer.
Are payments refundable?
No. All payments are final. Being outranked later, getting fewer clicks than you hoped for, or a removal for breaking the rules does not create a refund. A double charge, or a payment that did not add your time, is fixed.
What can I list?
A product website or app page that you own or are authorized to represent. Chat and invite links, adult sites and link shorteners are not allowed. Tracking parameters are removed, so affiliate links will not work. Your website must show valid company details.
How do categories work?
Every listing sits in one category, such as developer tools, marketing or AI agents. You pick it when you list. Each category has its own ranking. If yours is wrong, email us and we will change it.
How do I pay?
Checkout runs through Dodo Payments. You choose your hours, accept the terms and pay. Your card details are collected by Dodo Payments, not by us.
What happens when my time runs out?
Your listing is removed from the board automatically. You can list again at any time. We email you before your time ends if you gave us your email address.
What happens if someone else pays while I am checking out?
Your rank is set when your payment is confirmed, based on the time you then have left compared with everyone else. If someone bought more time while you were paying, you still land on the board, just not necessarily where you aimed.
Can I add my logo, screenshots and offers?
Yes. You can add them when you list, or later from your dashboard. If you skip the logo, we fetch your website's own icon. You can also add a special offer that shows on your listing.
How is Hourglass different from Product Hunt or other launch directories?
Hourglass is not a launch vote. There is no upvote, no hunter and no review queue. Rank is only the time you hold. The board is public and the rules are the same for everyone.
